Refund Policy
1. Per-event policy controls
Each event listing on Xpat Events includes the organizer's published Refund Policy and Cancellation Policy. Those terms govern your purchase. By completing checkout you agree to the organizer's policy as in effect at the time of purchase.
2. Event cancellation by the organizer
If the organizer cancels the event, the order is automatically refunded in full to the original payment method, less any non-refundable third-party fees the organizer has explicitly disclosed (rarely the case). Refunds typically arrive within 5–7 business days, depending on the issuing bank. We will email you at the address on the order with a confirmation when the refund is initiated.
3. Event postponement or material change
If the organizer materially changes the event (date, venue moved more than 50 miles, headlining performer change), you may request a refund within seven (7) days of the change announcement. After that window, the original ticket remains valid for the rescheduled event.
4. Buyer-initiated cancellation
Refunds for buyer-initiated cancellations are at the organizer's discretion, per the policy posted on the event page. Many events follow a tiered model:
- Full refund up to a stated number of days before the event;
- Partial refund (e.g. 50%) up to a closer cutoff;
- No refund inside that final cutoff (typically 24–72 hours).
These cutoffs vary; always check the event page's Refund Policy accordion before purchase.
5. How to request a refund
Sign in, go to Orders, choose the order, and submit a refund request. The organizer reviews requests and issues refunds directly to the original payment method via Xpat.Money. If you do not receive a response within five (5) business days, email support@xpat.events and we will mediate.
6. Chargebacks
We strongly encourage contacting the organizer or our support team before filing a chargeback. Chargebacks filed without first attempting resolution may result in account suspension and forfeiture of the ticket. We cooperate with payment networks during chargeback disputes and provide transaction evidence including device, location, and order history.
7. Force majeure
In the event of cancellation due to force majeure (natural disaster, government order, public-health emergency), the organizer's published force-majeure terms apply. Where no terms are published, we will work with the organizer to issue partial or full refunds where commercially reasonable.
8. Platform fees
Where a refund is issued, the platform fee included on your original purchase is refunded along with the ticket price unless the organizer has disclosed a non-refundable platform fee on the event page.
9. Settlement
Refunds are issued from the organizer's custodial wallet on Xpat.Money, which is the same wallet that received your original payment. We are not the merchant of record and do not custody these funds.
